I'm a Brooklyn mom with a customer experience background. I'm also a foodie, an urban gardener, a baker of adorably small treats, and a fan of efficiency gains.

Hi there!

I'm a fellow NYC parent to a 4 and a 6 year old, with a background in Operations leadership. I recently spent 4 years learning the ins and outs of the NYC kindergarten admissions process, pulling in knowledge from a variety of different sources. I spoke to advisors, parent friends, and preschool directors; I read through hundreds of posts in parent forums; and I spent way too many hours falling deep into the rabbit hole of education-related websites.... all in the hopes of trying to make the right school decision for my own family. Now that I'm on the other side of the process (at least for one kid), I realize there has to be a better way for other parents who are just starting out. I'm here to share what I've learned, including the tools that kept me organized throughout this process.

No matter what direction you take, I'm happy to say that your child will get into kindergarten. And, even better, it'll probably be a great experience for them! Now, if you're like me, that actually does little to alleviate any confusion or stress. There are thousands of school options and programs right here in NYC -- how do you choose the right one for your child?

I'm excited to walk you through the school landscape, and make this whole search process easier for you.

I'd love to hear your feedback!

NYC School Finder was built by a parent to help others better understand the local school admissions process. This site is maintained semi-regularly, and I try my very best to keep it up-to-date. I'd love to hear what you think!
